This Privacy Policy explains how X Compose Inc. (“X Compose,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and handles personal information through the X Compose Utility AI website and pilot-request process.
1. Scope
This policy applies to information submitted through this website, communications about Utility AI, and information provided while evaluating or participating in a pilot. A separate agreement or privacy notice may apply if a customer later uses the production platform.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- contact information, including name, role, company, email, and phone number;
- building information, including property name, type, location, approximate unit count, utility provider, and available data type;
- pilot preferences, utility categories, business goals, and additional context you choose to provide;
- utility bills, usage files, building-system information, or operational records shared later through an agreed process; and
- basic technical information generated when the website is used, such as browser, device, page, referral, and performance information.
3. How we use information
We may use information to:
- review and respond to pilot requests;
- assess whether available data is suitable for a Utility AI review;
- communicate about product access, support, and next steps;
- prepare agreed analysis, forecasts, possible anomaly indicators, and reporting;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and product; and
- meet legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
4. Utility and building data
Do not submit utility documents through the initial website form. If documents are useful, we will agree on the appropriate sharing process. You should provide only information you are authorized to share and redact unnecessary account, payment, resident, or other sensitive details where appropriate.
Utility AI findings depend on the completeness and quality of the available information. Data may be structured and analyzed to identify trends, calculate supported cost scenarios, review possible anomalies, and prepare explanations. It is not used to make automated legal, credit, employment, housing, or insurance decisions.
5. Resident information
The resident add-on is an optional future capability. Resident-facing features should use only authorized data and should not expose identifiable information about another unit or occupant. Where comparisons are offered, aggregated information should be used when appropriate.
6. Service providers
We may use service providers to host the website, deliver email, monitor performance, secure the service, and support product operation. These providers process information for the services they provide to us and may include Vercel and Resend. Their handling of information is also governed by their applicable terms and privacy practices.
7. Cookies and local storage
The website may use essential browser storage to remember theme preferences and may use analytics or performance technologies to understand website use. Browser settings can be used to limit cookies or storage, although some preferences may no longer persist.
8. Disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to service providers, professional advisers, authorities when legally required, or another entity in connection with a proposed corporate transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards and applicable law.
9. Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, contractual requirements, dispute resolution, and applicable law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards; however, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
10. International processing
Some service providers may process information outside your province or outside Canada. Information may therefore be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed.
11. Your choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct personal information, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, or request deletion of information that we no longer need to retain. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, product, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
